Rai Cultura to Present Three Different ‘Manons’

Rai Cultura and Rai5 are set to present three evenings of “Manon” from the Teatro Regio di Torino.

The operas will be shown at 21:15 and will begin on Oct. 24, 2024 Daniel Auber’s “Manon Lescaut” followed by Massenet’s “Manon” on Oct. 25, 2024. The final opera will be on Oct. 26, 2024, with Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut.”

The operas are part of the Teatro Regio di Torino’s Manon project, the young protagonist from Abate Prévost’s classical novel.

Auber’s “Maon Lescaut” will star Rocío Pérez, Armando Noguera, Francesco Salvadori, Sébastien Guèze, Manuela Custer, Lamia Beuque, and Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani. Guillaume Tourniaire conducts the production by Arnaud Bernard.

Massenet’s opera will be conducted by Evelino Pidò and directed by Arnaud Bernard. Ekaterina Bakanova takes the title role alongside Atalla Ayan, Roberto Scandiuzzi, and Björn Bürger.

Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” will star Erika Grimaldi, Roberto Aronica, Alessandro Luongo, and Carlo Lepore. Renato Palumbo conducts the production by Arnaud Bernard.

Prévost’s novel has been one of the most widely adapted novels in history having also been adapted to several films and ballets.
