Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Opera Theater to Present ‘An American Dream’
By David SalazarIndiana University Jacobs School of Music Opera Theater has announced that it will present “An American Dream” at the Musical Arts Center in Bloomington, Indiana this February.
The opera by Jack Perla and Jessica Murphy Moo explores issues of fear of the other and who owns the stories of history.
The work, which was commissioned by Seattle Opera by arrangement with publisher Music Without Walls, is conducted by Judith Yan and directed by Richard Gammon. “An American Dream” is presented in English with English supertitles.
The performances are scheduled for Feb. 2 and 3, 2024. The Feb. 2 performances will feature a talkback with Jack Perla and members of the team and cast.
