Maura Tuffy to Conduct Joby Talbot’s ‘Path of Miracles’

Los Angeles-based conductor and soprano Maura Tuffy will conduct Joby Talbot’s “Path of Miracles” later this month.

Tuffy leads sopranos Addy Sterrett, Tamara Bevard, Graycen Gardner, Rebecca Tomasko, Joslyn Sarshad, altos Ali Sandweiss Hodges, Genie Hossain, Ann Chen, David Yang, tenors Dermot Kiernan, David Morales, Saunder Choi, Adam Faruqi, and basses Luc Kleiner, Koji Sakano, Theo Trevisan, Ben Lin. Yuri Inoo serves as percussionist.

“Path of Miracles” explores the historical pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The work features spoken word and elements of chant and folk songs. It was originally commissioned and premiered by the UK-choral group Tenebrae.

Tuffy has sung with Grammy award-winning ensembles Conspirare and Los Angeles Master Chorale and has sung as a soloist under the batons of Masaaki Suzuki, Gabriel Crouch, André Thomas, and David Hill. She was the 2022 recipient of the Robert Shaw Prize from the Yale School of Music where she received her two master’s degrees.

The concert will take place at All Saints’ Church in Beverly Hills on May 26 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
