Saioa Hernández, Erwin Schrott & Malin Byström Lead New CD/DVD Releases

One of the recordings is also a world premiere and will be a discovery for all operatic lovers.
Rossini in 1819
Opera Rara will releases an 8-CD boxset Rossini in 1819 featuring three Opera Rara recordings that are currently unavailable in physical CD format: “Ermione,” “La donna del lago,” and “Bianca e Falliero.” The new box set is accompanied by a specially commissioned essay by Rossini specialist Eleonora Di Cintio, the recordings have been remastered to the highest audio quality.
“Ermione” and “Bianca e Falliero” are performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by David Parry while “La donna del lago” was recorded live at the 2006 Edinburgh International Festival with Maurizio Benini conducting the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
Don Giovanni
Kasper Holten’s production of Mozart’s masterpiece stars Erwin Schrott, Malin Byström, Louise Alder, Myrtò Papatanasiu, Daniel Behle, Leon Kosávič, and Petros Magoulas. Hartmut Haenchen leads the Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in this Opus Arte release.
La Forza del Destino
Carlus Padrissa’s production of Verdi’s opera from the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino gets a release on DVD, blu-ray, and CD on Dynamic. The Sci-Fi production stars Saioa Hernández, Annalisa Stroppa, Roberto Aronica, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Ferruccio Furlanetto, and Nicola Alaimo. Zubin Mehta conducted.
Alfredo il Grande
Naxos releases the world premiere recording of Giovanni Simone/Johann Simon Mayr work. The work stars Marie-Luise Dressen, Sophia Körber, Anna Feith, Philipp Polhardt, and Daniel Ochoa. Franz Hauk leads the Simon Mayr Chorus, members of the Bavarian State Opera Chorus, and the period-specialist Concerto de Bassus.
