The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced the upcoming performances of Verdi’s “Rigoletto.”

The opera will star Benjamin Bernheim, Saimir Pirgu and Josep Bros in the role of Duca di Mantua; Olga Peretyatko and Aigul Khismatullina as Gilda; Grigory Shkarupa and Liang Li in the role of Sparafucile; Rinat Shaham and Nino Surguladze as Maddalena; and Christopher Maltman and Markus Brück in the title role. The cast also includes Laura Vila, Mattia Denti, Michal Partyka, Moisés Marín, Stefano Palatchi, and Sara Bañeras.

Daniele Callegari conducts a production by Monique Wagemakers with set design by Michael Levine. Sandy Powell is responsible for costume design. Opera is a co-production with the Teatro Real.

The run of “Rigoletto” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu is set to begin on Nov. 28, 2021, and will last until Dec. 19, 2021.
