Sabine Devieilhe, Stéphanie d’Oustrac, Véronique Gens, Ian Bostridge & Stéphane Degout Headline Opéra Comique’s 2022 Season

Opéra Comique in Paris has announced its 2022 season, featuring seven operas. Here is the full slate.
Ambroise Thomas’ “Hamlet” opens the season with Sabine Devieilhe as Ophélie and Stéphane Degout in the title role. The cast also includes Laurent Alvaro, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo, Pierre Derhet, Jérôme Varnier, Yu Shao, Geoffroy Buffière, and Nicolas Legoux. Louis Langrée conducts a production by Cyril Teste.
Performance dates: Jan. 24 – Feb. 3, 2022
Isabelle Druet performs Triton, Cyril Auvity sings Protée, and Marie Perbost performs the title role in Sebastian Duron’s opera “Coronis.” The cast is rounded out with Anthea Pichanik, Victoire Bunel, Marielou Jacquard, Caroline Meng, and Olivier Fichet. Vincent Dumestre conducts a production by Omar Porras.
Performance dates: Feb. 14 – 17, 2022
Next up is Jacques Offenbach‘s “La Périchole.” The opera spotlights Philippe Talbot, Tassis Christoyannis, Eric Huchet, Lionel Peintre, Thomas Morris, Quentin Desgeorges, Marie Lenormand, Lucie Peyramaure, Margot Genet, Sarah Jouffroy, and Stéphanie d’Oustrac in the title role. Julien Leroy conducts a production by Valérie Lesort.
Performance dates: May 15 – 25, 2022
Zhou Long’s “Madame White Snake” showcases Kathleen Kim, Samuel Mariño, Zachary Wilder, Kevin Short, and Peiju Chien-Pott. Long Yu conducts a production by Chen Shi-Zheng.
Performance dates: June 22 – 28, 2022
Sabine Devieilhe stars in the title role in Laurent Pelly’s production of Léo Delibes’ “Lakmé.” The cast also includes Frédéric Antoun, Ambroisine Bré, Stéphane Degout, Philippe Estèphe, Judith Fa, Marielou Jacquard, Mireille Delunsch, and François Rougier. Raphaël Pichon conducts.
Performance dates: Sep. 28 – Oct. 8, 2022
Christoph Willibald Gluck‘s “Armide” spotlights Ian Bostridge, Jean-Sébastien Bou, Anaïk Morel, Philippe Estèphe, Enguerrand de Hys, Florie Valiquette, and Véronique Gens in the title role. Christophe Rousset conducts a production by Lilo Baur.
Performance dates: Nov. 5 – 15, 2022
Alan Menken’s “La Petite Boutique des Horreurs” closes the season. The opera stars Marc Mauillon, Judith Fa, and Lionel Peintre. Maxime Pascal conducts a production by Valérie Lesort.
