Teatro Regio di Parma Announces New Verdi Off Estate Concerts
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro Regio di Parma has announced four new concerts to its Verdi Off Estate 2021 series.
Following performances in Busseto and San Secondo, the Italian company has program four new concerts in the province of Parma.
The new concerts will be performed at the Sala Baganza, Traversetolo, Zibello, and Sissa from Sept. 4 to 12, 2021.
The concerts will begin with “Il guardiano e il buffone ossia Rigoletto” on Sept. 4 at the Cortile della Rocca Sanvitale. The performance will be geared towards children from ages 3 and up. Simone Faloppa and Riccardo Olivier direct the production in collaboration with Eco di fondo and music by Giorgio Martano.
The Verdi gala, which will feature the Accademia Verdiana del Teatro Regio di Parma, will be held at the Sala Baganza at the Cortile della Rocca Sanvitale on Sept. 5, in Traversetolo at the Corte Agresti on Sept. 7, in Pieveottoville at the Piazza Cesare Battisti on Sept. 11 and in Sissa at the Parco della Montagnola on Sept 12.
The concerts will feature Ilaria Alida Quilico, Magdalena Gallo, Chiara Guerra, Anna Subbotina, Silia Valente, Jaebeom Park, Yuxuan Wang, Danbi Lee, Chuanqi Xu, and Franco Rios Castro. Milo Martani will accompany at the piano in excerpts from “La forza del destino,” “Macbeth,” “Il Trovatore,” “La traviata,” “Il corsaro,” “Un ballo in maschera,” “Attila,” “I Lombardi alla prima crociata,” “Rigoletto,” “Giovanna d’Arco,” “I Lombardi alla prima crociata,” “Simon Boccanegra,” “Ernani,” and “I vespri siciliani.”
Audience members will need to reserve tickets.
