Erin Morley & Martina Serafin Lead Wiener Staatsoper’s ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ Live Broadcast

By Francisco Salazar

On Dec. 18, the Wiener Staatsoper is set to broadcasta live performance of Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.”

The live performance will be performed without an audience and will star Martina Serafin as the Marschallin, Daniela Sindram as Octavian, Günther Groissböck as Baron Ochs, Erin Morley as Sophie, and Jochen Schmeckenbecher as Faninal.

The performance will be conducted by Philippe Jordan in a production by Otto Schenk.

Audiences can view “Der Rosenkavalier” on play.wiener-staatsoper.at and myfidelio.at. The performance will then be broadcast on ORF III on Dec. 27.

The live stream comes after the Wiener Staatsoper filmed live performances of “Tosca,” “Werther,” and “Das Verratene Meer.” The company is also planning on livestreaming a New Year’s Eve “Die Fledermaus” with Camilla Nylund and Asmik Grigorian.
