The Cleveland Orchestra has announced that starting on June 18, 2020, it will launch TCO Classics, a selection of concert recordings that will be made available for free on-demand streaming.

Among the concerts featured in the series will be one dating from Jan. 15, 2015 featuring mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung. Franz Welser-Möst leads a 90th Birthday Salute for Pierre Boulez with music by Debussy, Berg, and Boulez.

Other performances include music by Ives, Hartmann, Tchaikovksy, Prokofiev, Dutilleux, Brahms, Mozart, Schubert, Debussy, and Stravinsky.

“This new series of live sound recordings gives audiences an opportunity to hear the extraordinary artistry of The Cleveland Orchestra across a range of years and repertoire, in some cases with recordings that have never before been heard outside of the concert hall,” said Cleveland Orchestra Artistic Officer Mark Williams in a press release.  “Music lovers will have a special opportunity to look back in a new way at the remarkable history of this Orchestra by listening to a selection of carefully chosen concerts each month.”
