Elina Garanca, Heartbeat Opera Headline The Broad Stage’s 2020-21 Season

The Broad Stage in Los Angeles has announced its 2020-21 season, which will be the company’s first under Artistic and Executive Director Rob Bailis.

The season will feature a wide array or unique works and artists, but for the purposes of this article, our focus will be on operatic and vocal performances.

The season will launch outdoors in fall 2020 with the chamber opera “Birds in the Moon.” The work is created by Mark Grey and Julia Canosa I Serra and will be directed by Elkhanah Pulitzer. It will be performed outdoors and will be open to the public.

Heartbeat Opera’s production of “Fidelio” will get its LA premiere.

Performance Dates: Feb. 13, 14, 2021 

Mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča will appear in recital alongside pianist Malcolm Martineau in a night of arias and songs.
