Fabio Sartori, Tamara Wilson & Franz Welser-Möst Highlight Cleveland Orchestra’s 2020-21 Season

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its 2020-21 season. For the purposes of this article we will only highlight vocal performances.

Franz Welser-Möst conducts Eldman’s Rothko Chapel and Mozart’s Requiem and Ave verum corpus. The concert features soloists Lauren Snouffer, Daryl Freedman, Julian Prégardien, Matthew Plenk, Peter Kellner, and violist Wesley Collins.

Performance Dates: Sept. 24-30, 2020

Alan Gilbert conducts Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with soloists Kiera Duffy, Elizabeth DeShong, Matthew Plenk, and Raymond Aceto. Unsuk Chin’s “Puzzles and Games” from “Alice in Wonderland” also makes up the program.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-15, 2020

Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass will be conducted by Semyon Bychkov with soloists Tamara Wilson, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Stuart Skelton, and organist Paul Jacobs. The concert also includes Anderson’s New Work.

Performance Dates: April 8-11, 2021

Fabio Sartori sings the title role in Verdi’s “Otello” with Krassimira Stoyanova, Simon Keenlyside, Jennifer Johnson Cano, and Pene Pati. Franz Welser-Möst conducts the work which is part of the Outsider Festival.

Performance Dates: May 22-30, 2021
