Michael Fabiano, Angela Meade, Bryan Hymel To Star in Historic Performance At Philadelphia’s Metropolitan Opera House

The Academy of Vocal Arts is set to showcase “BrAVA Philadelphia!” at Philadelphia’s Metropolitan Opera House on  March 28, 2020.

This event, which marks the first opera performance at the hallowed house in over 80 years, will feature such star singers as Angela Meade, Latonia Moore, Michael Fabiano, Bryan Hymel, Taylor Stayton , Vanessa Vasquez, Hannah Ludwig, and André Courville. The orchestra will be conducted by Christofer Macatsoris.

“AVA is thrilled to be hosting our 85th Anniversary concert at such an historic Philadelphia institution,” Rick Pitcairn, Chairman of the AVA Board Directors, stated in a press release. “The re-opening of The Met has been massive for the arts community of Philadelphia, and we couldn’t think of a more perfect place to have our gala and concert this year. We are grateful for all who helped make this a reality.”

“BrAVA Philadelphia!” is presented every five years and honors individuals who have shaped the city’s arts and cultural community. Among those honored this year will be Pastor Mark E. Hatcher of the Holy Ghost Headquarters, Geoff Gordon of Live Nation, and Eric Blumenfeld of EB Realty Management Corporation.
