Riccardo Massi Replaces Yusif Eyvazov In Copenhagen

By Francisco Salazar

Riccardo Massi has replaced Yusif Eyvazov in a gala concert in Copenhagen.

The concert organizers announced that Massi will sing alongside Anna Netrebko and Christopher Maltman on the performance scheduled for Nov. 9, 2019 and conducted by Claudio Vandelli.

Eyvazov was set to perform the concert but due to rehearsals for upcoming performances of Tchaikobvsky’s “The Queen of Spades” at the Metropolitan Opera, the tenor was forced to leave Europe earlier.

Massi recently completed performances of Puccini’s “Turandot” at the Metropolitan Opera and is scheduled to perform Puccini’s “Tosca” at the Semperoper Dresden and “Il Trovatore” and “Tosca” at the Bayerische Staatsoper. He will also perform at the Teatro Carlo Felice in a production of Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” later this season.

The concert scheduled for Copenhagen ends Netrebko’s tour before she opens the Teatro alla Scala’s 2019-20 season in a new production of Puccini’s “Tosca.” The soprano goes back on tour in February with Eyvazov.
