Mezzo-Soprano Anna Huntley To Perform In Wimbledon

Mezzo-soprano Anna Huntley will appear in recital with pianist Simon Lepper as part of the “Wimbledon Piano Classics” series this October.

Blüthner Pianos and the Royal College of Music will present an evening filled with music that explores young women’s experiences of love. The program is set to include works by Schubert, R. Schumann, Rossini, Nin, Costa Braga, Guastavino, Coates, Wood, d’Hardelot, Weill, Flanders & Swann, Coward, and Grand.

According to Blüthner Pianos’ website, Huntley graduated from the Royal College of Music International Opera School before going on to win the Wigmore Hall / Independent Opera Vocal Fellowship, 3rd Prize at the Das Lied Competition, and 2nd Prize in the London Handel Singing Competition. She has performed at top venues including the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Wigmore Hall, Wiener Musikverein, Opéra Lille, Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, and Kammermusiksaal at the Berliner Philharmonie.

Lepper has performed at Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall and is an official accompanist for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. She shares her knowledge with students as a professor at the Royal College of Music.

“Huntley & Lepper” will be held at the Trinity United Reformed Church on Oct. 11, 2019.
