Operantics to Present ‘Così Fan Tutte’ in 2027
By David SalazarOperantics will present a new chamber production of Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” at Hayes Theatre Co in Sydney from Aug. 13 to Sept. 4, 2027.
Matthew Barclay will direct and Dr. Philip Eames will conduct. The staging takes its cue from the opera’s subtitle, “La scuola degli amanti,” or “The School for Lovers,” and uses the intimacy of the 111 seat venue to bring audiences close to the singers and musicians.
The production is part of Hayes Theatre Co’s 2027 season and is presented in partnership with Lyric Arts, which serves as presenting partner. The Australian Institute of Music is the education partner.
The production marks a return to the company’s roots. Operantics began in 2015 as a grassroots collective and made its debut at Sydney’s Independent Theatre with “Così fan tutte.”
