MidAtlantic Philharmonic Orchestra to Present Rachmaninoff World Premiere at Carnegie Hall
By David SalazarThe MidAtlantic Philharmonic Orchestra will present the world premiere of Rachmaninoff’s “Suite in D Minor,” newly orchestrated by Teodor Doré, on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall.
The concert marks the American launch of Renaissance-21, which presents the event. Rachmaninoff composed the suite in 1891, and it was rediscovered after more than a century as a piano manuscript. Doré, a composer and pianist, orchestrated the work with the endorsement of the Rachmaninoff family.
Jason Tramm, principal conductor of the MidAtlantic Philharmonic Orchestra, and guest conductor Olsi Qinami lead the ensemble. Doré appears as pianist alongside pianist Yuemeng Li, violinist Yury Revich and soprano Anastasiya Roytman.
Preceding this world premiere are other works by Rachmaninoff, Doré, Beethoven, and the world premiere of Ilya Golubovich’s “Ad Vegam.”
The showcase kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time.
