San Francisco Opera Announces Complimentary Performance of ‘Simon Boccanegra’

The San Francisco Opera is set to present a complimentary performance of “Simon Boccanegra” on Sept. 19, 2026 at 2 p.m.

The performance will be held in celebration of the opening of the company’s 104th season and comes after the orchestra and management came to a new agreement following a strike that saw opening night canceled.

In order to attend the performance of “Simon Boccanegra,” a reservation must be made and it is on a first come, first served basis.

For those who are able to reserve, the entrance to the Opera House will be via the main entrance at 301 Van Ness Avenue, and doors will open at 1 p.m. There will be concessions available for purchase.

“Simon Boccanegra” will star Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Eleonora Buratto, Christian Van Horn, and Joshua Guerrero. Eun Sun Kim conducts.
