The Concurso Internacional de Música de Les Corts (CIM) has announced that its 22nd edition is set to take place in Barcelona from Nov. 16 to 21, 2026.

Organized by the Les Corts District, A Tempo Centro de Estudios Musicales, the Asociación per l’Altre Cor Cremat, and Voce, Música & Òpera, the competition is open to singers between the ages of 18 and 32, as well as instrumentalists and chamber ensembles between the ages of 18 and 30.

The competition features two categories, lyric singing and instrumental performance. This year’s edition increases the value of its top prizes: winners in each category will receive 5,000 euros, while runners up will receive 2,000 euros. Additional honors include an Audience Prize, a Special Prize consisting of a photography session with photographer Antonio Bofill, and twelve further distinctions offering scholarships, contracts, and performance opportunities with partner festivals and concert series, including the Premio Primer Palau 2027, the Premio especial Victoria de los Ángeles, the Premio Maria Canals, and the Premio Fundació Òpera Actual, among others.

The vocal jury includes Pol Avinyó, deputy artistic director of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Marc Busquets, artistic director of the LIFE Victoria cycle, pianist and conductor Ricardo Estrada, mezzo soprano Ketevan Kemoklidze, music critic Jordi Maddaleno, soprano Marta Mathéu, mezzo soprano Francesca Roig, tenor Marc Sala, artistic director of the Festival Apròpera, soprano Ofelia Sala, Fernando Sans Riviére, editor of Ópera Actual, journalist Albert Torrens, and Jordi Torrents, artistic director of the Fundació Òpera a Catalunya.

“El Concurso de Les Corts is a first platform,” said Silvia Chocrón, the competition’s director, per an official press release. “The CIM fills an essential need — the competition operates with a more approachable format that gives visibility to young musicians and serves as a launching platform for them to enter other competitions and build their professional careers. The CIM is the first competition any young musician should face, to see where they stand and set out on a professional path.”
