The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra has announced Dmitry Yablonsky as its new Music Director and Chief Conductor.

He will take up his post immediately.

The conductor and cellist was already named conductor laureate of the Jerusalem Symphony in 2016.

Yablonsky has conducted in Camerino (Italy) and is the Music Director of Kiev Virtuosi. Since fall 2016, he teaches at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University and has been named Head of International Relations of the same University. He has conducted at the as Carnegie Hall, La Scala, the Moscow Great Hall, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, Taiwan National Hall, Théâtre Mogador, Cité de la Musique, the Louvre.

Yablonsky has also made more than 70 recordings for Naxos, Warner Classics, Chandos and other labels.​
