Bass-baritone Davóne Tines will perform with the International Pride Orchestra in its Pride Celebration Concert.

Following Texas’ new Drag Ban, the International Pride Orchestra makes a historic state debut. The program stars Tines and drag performer, Peaches Christ. Tines will sing an arrangement of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” then narrate Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait.” Music by Leonard Bernstein, Carlos Simon, Gabriella Lena Frank, and Reza Vali are also presented. Conductors include Christine Brandes, Robert Moody, and Michael Roest.

The concert will also highlight the Montrose Center, which has served Houston’s LGBTQ+ community since 1978. A portion of ticket proceeds from the evening will directly support the Center.

The Wortham Center host the concert on June 3.
