Carolyn Sampson, Mimi Doulton & The Carice Singers Headline Spitalfields Music Festival 2026

Spitalfields Music has announced the full program for its 2026 Festival, running June 26 through July 8 at venues across East London. Here are the vocal performances on offer.

The City of London Sinfonia, conducted by Jonathan Berman, opens the festival with “The Missing Piece…is Peace” at Shoreditch Town Hall. The program features music by George Walker, Piet Swerts, Arvo Pärt, Reena Esmail, and Jean Sibelius, alongside the world premiere of Philip Herbert’s Lingua Pacis. Four newly commissioned poems by Matt Abbott, Malika Booker, Simon Mundy, and Reshma Ruia are woven throughout.

Carolyn Sampson and Mariana Rodrigues star in “In the Belly of the Beast,” a theatrical reimagining of three works from Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre’s “Cantates Bibliques,” presented in two performances at Metronome, Aldgate. The performance is produced in partnership with Mahogany Opera, Dunedin Consort, and HERA.

Soprano Mimi Doulton performs three world premieres in “No Man Is an Island” at Rich Mix. The programme features new works by Elaine Mitchener, Linda Buckley, and Krõõt-Kärt Kaev. Jonathan Higgins appears on electronics.

Performance Date: July 1, 2026


The Carice Singers, conducted by George Parris, perform “The Song Sung True” at St. Giles Cripplegate. The program includes Jean-Yves Daniel-Lesur’s “Le Cantique des cantiques” and Luigi Dallapiccola’s “Due cori di Michelangelo Buonarroti il Giovane” with the London premieres of four new works by composers from the Spitalfields Music and Cheltenham Music Festival Composers Academy.

Performance Date: July 3, 2026


The Choir of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London, directed by Colm Carey with Daniel Greenaway on organ, closes the festival at the Tower of London with a program featuring Palestrina’s “Missa Papae Marcelli” in Francesco Soriano’s arrangement, alongside works by Flor Peeters and Charles Tournemire.
