Finnish National Opera Announces First Production of 2026-27 Season

The Finnish National Opera has announced its first new production of the 2026-27 season.

The company said that it will present a new production of Gluck’s “Orfeo” featuring Michał Sławecki and Kangmin Justin Kim in the title role, Suvi Väyrynen and Saara Rauvala as Amor and Sonja Herranen and Anna Barletta as Euridice.

The production is set to be directed by the acclaimed director and choreographer Tero Saarinen, surrounded by the visual world created by Mikki Kunttu and Erika Turunen.

Appo Häkkinen will conduct the cast.

“Orfeo” is set to open on Jan. 29 and will run through Feb. 27, 2027.

Full details for the 2026-27 season will be announced at a later date.
