Festival Internacional de Arte Sacro’s 36th Edition Unveils 2026 Season

The Festival Internacional de Arte Sacro de la Comunidad de Madrid has announced programming for its 36th edition, running March 29 through April 20, 2026. Here are the vocal performances on offer.

William Christie conducts Les Arts Florissants in a program of André Campra’s “Miserere, Salmo 50” and “Misa de Réquiem” at Teatros del Canal.

Performance Date: March 29, 2026


Christie leads Les Arts Florissants in François Couperin’s “Leçons de Ténèbres” at Teatros del Canal. Soloists include sopranos Lucía Martín Cartón and Rachel Redmond. The program is interspersed with instrumental works by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Marin Marais.

Performance Date: March 31, 2026


Festival Director Josetxu Obregón conducts La Ritirata and the Coro de la ORCAM in Bach’s “St. John Passion.” The cast of soloists includes Fernando Guimarães, Guglielmo Buonsanti, Alicia Amo, Beatriz Oleaga, Pablo García López, and Ferran Albrich.

Performance Dates: April 5, 2026 (Teatro Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial) & April 6, 2026 (Capilla del Palacio Real, Madrid)
