
Obituary: Singapore Artistic Planner Hans Sørensen Dies
By Francisco SalazarFormer Director of Artistic Planning at the Singapore Symphony Orchestra Hans Sørensen has died.
The orchestra announced the news via social media stating that he has been with the organization from 2019 to 2025 and “his contributions have had a truly meaningful and enduring impact on our work, for which we will always be grateful. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. Thank you, Hans.”
Prior to his work in Singapore, Sørensen was Orchestra Manager for the Göteborgs Symfoniker (the National Orchestra of Sweden). He also worked with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Universal Music and was a conductor and producer of film music. He was also a music history lecturer at the European Film College and the Danish Film Institute.
Then in Singapore he helped attract record audience attendance, including steering the SSO through the challenges of the pandemic. He also spearheaded internationally acclaimed recordings for the orchestra, with albums released by labels PENTATONE and Chandos Records.
