Semperoper Dresden Launches Fundraiser for Aaron Pegram’s Family

By Francisco Salazar

The Semperoper Dresden has created a fundraiser in order to help support Aaron Pegram‘s widow and children following the untimely death of the tenor.

In a a statement, the company said, “On Sunday the 8th February 2026, our valued colleague and friend Aaron Pegram passed away suddenly and completely unexpectedly. With his death, a voice has been silenced — a voice that filled the theater, rehearsal rooms, and the lives of all who knew him. Just two days earlier, Aaron stood on stage at the SemperOpernball as Charlie Chaplin — radiant, expressive and touching. This fracture is unbelievable.”

The statement added, “Aaron was a member of the Dresden Soloist Ensemble for almost seventeen years. In countless roles, his distinctive voice, his musicality, his humor and his human warmth shaped our stage — and our theater life. He was not only a gracious artist, but also a generous, pro-life friend. Aaron leaves his wife Annie and their two joint children Anya and Leo. In the midst of deep grief, they now face the emotional and financial challenges of this tragic loss. This fundraiser was created to support Annie and the children in the coming weeks and months – to help with immediate expenses and to provide some stability at an unimaginably difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, is appreciated.”

The fundraiser has raised 43,620 euros as of this writing. You can find more information here:
