By Francisco Salazar

Washington National Opera is showing solidarity to the Minnesota Opera and Minnesota community.

The D.C. company shared Minnesota Opera’s statement regarding the protests and said, “We stand with our colleagues at Minnesota Opera and with all those impacted by the heartbreaking events unfolding in Minnesota.”

It added, “We are sharing this statement from Minnesota Opera President & General Director Ryan Taylor, which also highlights several organizations offering direct support to community members in need at this time. In moments of grief and uncertainty, the arts community can help amplify care, connection, and compassion. We invite our community to review and share these resources, and to engage in whatever ways feel meaningful and possible. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.”

Washington National Opera recently exited the Kennedy Center following President Trump’s takeover. The company has since announced a new spring season and found new venues to continue its season.
