Cecilia Bartoli to be Featured in Olympics Opening Ceremony

Cecili Bartoli is set to perform at the opening of the Olympics in Milan.

The Milano Cortina announced the news stating, “At the Olympic Opening Ceremony, her intense and instantly recognizable voice will mark one of the evening’s most evocative moments, where music becomes memory, identity, and a shared vision.​”

Bartoli joins a list of performers that include pop star Mariah Carey, tenor Andrea Bocelli, pop singer Laura Pausini, and pianist Lang Lang. 

Bartoli is one of the great mezzos of her generation who has performed around the world including at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Salzburg Festival, and Opera de Monte-Carlo.  She is a winner of the Polar Music Prize as well as the ECHO Klassik and BRIT awards.
