The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced two cast changes for “La Bohème” on Dec. 26, 2025.

The company said that Galina Cheplakova will replace Sonya Yoncheva, who was originally scheduled. Meanwhile Davide Giusti will sing the role of Rodolfo, replacing Long Long.

Cheplakova performed the Dec. 23 performance, also replacing Yoncheva.

Cheplakova recently made her debut with the company in “La Traviata” this past summer. She also made her Met Opera debut in “The Queen of Spades.” The soprano has performed with Opera Australia, Opéra National Montpellier, Opéra de Dijon and State Opera Kazakhstan.

Giusti has performed at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Tel Aviv Opera, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, the Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon, the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the Tchaikovsky State Opera in Perm.

Cheplakova and Giusti will join a cast that includes Juliana Grigoryan, Andrzej Filończyk, Germán Olvera, and Roberto Tagliavini.
