Metropolitan Opera to Present ‘Arabella’ Live in HD with Rachel Willis-Sørensen

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2025–26 Live in HD season is set to present Strauss’s “Arabella” on Nov. 22.

The opera will star soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Arabella, opposite bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny as Mandryka.

Soprano Louise Alder sings the role of Zdenka while soprano Julie Roset takes on the role of Fiakermilli. The cast also includes mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill as Countess Adelaide Waldner, tenor Pavol Breslik as Matteo, and bass Brindley Sherratt as Count Waldner.

Nicholas Carter conducts Otto Schenk’s production.

The Nov. 22 performance of “Arabella” will mark the opera’s 62nd performance at the Met and inaugural Live in HD transmission to cinemas worldwide. Gary Halvorson will direct the Live in HD presentation for cinemas, and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green will host the transmission, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interviews during the intermissions.
