
Juliana Grigoryan, Angel Blue, Freddie de Tommaso, Adam Smith & Aleksandra Kurzak Lead Metropolitan Opera’s ‘La Bohème’

Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Puccini’s “La Bohème” is set to return to the Metropolitan Opera.
The production, which opens on Oct. 21, will be performed 20 times.
The first cast of five performances will feature soprano Juliana Grigoryan and tenor Freddie De Tommaso alongside soprano Heidi Stober, baritone Lucas Meachem, baritone Sean Michael Plumb as Schaunard, bass Jongmin Park as Colline, and baritone Donald Maxwell. Keri-Lynn Wilson conducts the cast with the Nov. 8 broadcast Live in HD.
The following cast of four performances will include Grigoryan, tenor Stephen Costello, soprano Mané Galoyan, baritone David Bizic as Marcello, baritone Iurii Samoilov, and bass Alexander Köpeczi. Daniele Rustioni conducts.
In the spring, two alternating casts take the Met stage for performances. Soprano Angel Blue, tenor Adam Smith, soprano Amina Edris, baritone Davide Luciano, Edward Parks, and Alexandros Stavrakakis. Roberto Kalb makes his Met conducting debut.
The second cast will include soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, tenor Long Long, Stober, baritone Anthony Clark Evans, baritone Alexander Birch Elliott, bass Giorgi Manoshvili, and baritone John Hancock. Karel Mark Chichon conducts.
The Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Dec. 6, and April 15 and 21 performances of “La Bohème” will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on the SiriusXM app.
