Cast Change: Erin Morley Withdraws from ‘Rigoletto’ at Arena di Verona

By Francisco Salazar

Erin Morley has canceled her August 30 performance of “Rigoletto.”

The soprano took to social media and said , “Dear friends, I am heartbroken to tell you all that I have an unforeseen medical situation that I have to take care of, and which makes it impossible for me to sing Gilda at the Arena di Verona right now. I’m so sad to miss these performances. I had been looking forward to this beautiful production of Rigoletto for a long time.”

She noted that Rosa Feola would sing Gilda in her place.

“I’m a huge fan of Rosa’s and I really adore her Gilda,” Morley added. “A huge IN BOCCA AL LUPO to her and the rest of this marvelous ‘Rigoletto’ cast Luca Salsi, Pene Pati and Michele Spotti.”

Morley returns to the stage in September for a concert with Lawrence Brownlee at the Kennedy Center and to the Metropolitan Opera for Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment.”
