Amartuvshin Enkhbat & Adela Zaharia Lead San Francisco Opera’s ‘Rigoletto’

The San Francisco Opera is set to open its 2025-26 season with Verdi’s “Rigoletto.”

The opera will be performed between Sept. 5 and 27 and conducted by Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim. Jose Maria Condemi directs the acclaimed production with Amartuvshin Enkhbat bringing his acclaimed turn of Rigoletto.

The baritone will be joined by soprano Adela Zaharia as Gilda; tenor Yongzhao Yu as the Duke of Mantua in his house debut; mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges as Maddalena; and bass Peixin Chen as Sparafucile. The cast also includes Olivier Zerouali as Marullo, Samuel White as Borsa, Jongwon Han as Count Ceprano, Caroline Corrales as Countess Ceprano, and soprano Elisa Sunshine as the Page.

San Francisco Opera has performed “Rigoletto” in 32 of its previous 102 seasons, beginning with the inaugural season in 1923.

The opera will be live streamed on Sept. 13 and will be available to watch on demand for 48 hours.
