⁦Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha Wins BBC Cardiff Singer of World Song Prize

The BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition has announced the winner of the Song Prize.

The jury chose South African soprano ⁦Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha as the winner of this year’s Song competition

Rangwanasha is a Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera and has performed at the Cape Town Opera and Bern Staatsoper, among others. She has also competed at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition, Phillip H. Moore Music Competition, ATKV Singing Competition, and UNISA International Voice Competition.

The Song Prize competition showcased the voices of 14 of the BBC Cardiff Singer Of The World 2021 competitors. The judging panel included Wigmore Hall’s Artistic and Executive Director John Gilhooly, US soprano Roberta Alexander, and Welsh bass-baritone Neal Davies.

The BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Finals will be held on June 19, 2021.
