San Diego Opera Announces New Chief Development Officer

The San Diego Opera has announced that Patrick Mühlen-Schulte will serve as the Company’s Chief Development Officer.

The main functions of the COC are fundraising and he will be “responsible and accountable for achieving the annual and long-term goals for contributed income.”

Per a press release, he assumed his post on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018.

Mühlen-Schulte’s previous experience includes working as an arts administrator and consultant with performance companies and venues in the U.S. and Australia. He worked with the Houston Grand Opera and LA Opera, as well as Opera Australia.

“I’m thrilled that Patrick will be joining our Executive Team as Chief Development Officer,” stated San Diego Opera General Director, David Bennett. “Patrick brings years of nonprofit management experience, most recently with Los Angeles Opera and Houston Grand Opera, and experience in cultural policy for the government of Australia. He is an inspiring and supportive leader, with a wide breadth of knowledge about our art form. I look forward to working directly with him to support the vision of San Diego Opera.”
