Opera National De Paris 2018-19 Season: Here Is A Look At All The Live In HD Performances

The Opéra National de Paris has announced its cinema season for the 2018-19 season. Here is a look at the works that you can expect to see on the silver screen.

Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots (Oct. 4, 2018): The season begins with Meyerbeer’s grand opera starring Bryan Hymel, Diana Damrau, Ermonela Jaho, and Nicolas Testé. Michele Mariotti conducts Andreas Kriegenburg’s new production.

Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra (Dec. 13, 2018): Fabio Luisi conducts Calixto Bieto’s production with Maria Agresta, Ludovic Tézier, Francesco Demuro, and Mika Kares.

Bizet’s “Carmen” (Jan. 17, 2019): Elīna Garanča and Roberto Alagna reunite for “Carmen” with Ildar Abdrazakov and Maria Agresta. The performance is conducted Sir Mark Elder.

Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of Mtsenk” (April 16, 2019): Aušrinė Stundytė takes on the lead role in Shostakovich’s dramatic masterpiece. Pavel Černoch also stars with Ingo Metzmacher conducting.

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” (June 21, 2019): Étienne Dupuis, Ain Anger, Jacquelyn Wagner, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Nicole Car,  Philippe Sly, Mikhail Timoshenko, and Elsa Dreisig lead the cast of Mozart’s most famous work. Ivo Van Hove directs the new co-production with the Metropolitan Opera while Philippe Jordan conducts.
