Nicola Alaimo Wins Ettore Bastianini Award

Nicola Alaimo has won the Ettore Bastianini Award.

The biennial accolade was given to the baritone for his achievements on the international opera stage and as one of the few baritones in the world who continues in the line of Bastianini.

The award will be handed out by the Ettore Bastianini Association on Feb. 22 in Bergamo at the Domus Magna-Sala Locatelli-Palazzo where there will also be a brief recital.

Alaimo is one of today’s leading baritones who performs all over the world. He has appeared at the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, and Metropolitan Opera, among other theaters throughout Europe.

This season he has engagements at the Teatro Real, the Salzburg Festival, and Opera de Marseille. He also performs at Orange this summer.
