Met’s ‘Così Fan Tutte’ To Stream On PBS

By David Salazar

PBS will showcase “Così Fan Tutte” from the Metropolitan Opera as part of its Great Performances Series on Sunday, July 29, 2018.

The broadcast will kick off at 12 p.m. EDT and will star Kelli O’Hara, Amanda Majeski, Adam Plachetka, Ben Bliss, Christopher Maltman, and Serena Malfi under the musical direction of David Robertson.

The production, set on Coney Island was lauded by OperaWire, the review noting “At its core, the opera is one big joke that all the characters ultimately play on one another. With this production, they let the audience enjoy it with them.”

This is the latest in a season-long series that will still showcase transmissions of the Met’s Live in HD season. PBS will still showcase such operas as “Luisa Miller,” “Cendrillon.” The broadcasts will run throughout the summer in time for the Met’s new 2018-19 season, whereupon PBS will start broadcasting that season’s Live in HD transmissions.
