The LA Opera is set to continue its free live simulcast series “Opera in the Park” with “Verdi’s “Don Carlo.”
The company will present the work on Sept. 22, 2018, which is set to star Plácido Domingo, Ramón Vargas, Ana María Martinez, Anna Smirnova, Ferruccio Furlanetto, and Alexandre Vinogradov. James Conlon will conduct the production by Ian Judge.
The high definition big screen event will take place at the El Cariso Community Regional Park in Sylmar. The showcase will be free for all those who attend and will begin at 6 p.m with doors opening at 4 p.m. local time.
The series continues after its successful “Carmen” last season, which starred Ana María Martinez in the title role.
LA Opera’s 2018-19 season will feature “Don Carlo,” “Satyagraha,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “la Traviata,” “La Clemenza di Tito,” “El Gato Montes,” and “Soldier Songs,” among other works.
