Juan Diego Flórez Announces Debut Album For Sony Classical

Sony Classical has announced has Juan Diego Flórez’s new CD.

The new album, entitled “Mozart,” will see the tenor exploring arias from the composer’s famed works. The album will also mark his first album for Sony Classical and his first album since 2015 when Decca released “Italia.”

The new album will feature Orchestra la Scintilla and will be conducted by Riccardo Minasi.

Prior to Mozart, Flórez recorded nine albums for Decca Classics, with his debut album coming in 2004. The tenor also has an extensive collection of DVDs that have been released for Decca and Virgin Classics. Earlier this year Flórez announced on Instagram that a production of “Werther” will be released on DVD from the Zürich Opera.

The Peruvian tenor is scheduled to perform Donizetti’s “Lucrezia Borgia” at the Salzburg Festival and his 2017-18 season will see him take on a number of concerts before making his making his role debut in Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” alongside Olga Peretyatko-Mariotti.

The album is slated for Oct. 6, 2018.
