Gonzalo Montes To Present ‘De España Vengo’ In Colombia

Baritone Gonzalo Montes will present “De España vengo” at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo.

The baritone will present a concert of popular Spanish and Colombian songs including Manuel de Falla, Fernando Obradors, Miquel Ortega, Federico García Lorca, Carlos Guastavino, Alberto Ginastera and Jaime León. Pianist Miquel Ortega Pujol will accompany Montes.

Montes is a Colombian baritone and actor who has performed diverse styles including opera, zarzuela, musical theater, oratorio, Italian, German and Spanish and 20th-century music. Among his most acclaimed operas are “La Favorita, “L’Elisir d’Amore,” “Don Carlo,” “La Traviata,” “La Boheme,” “Turandot,” “Gianni Schicchi,” “Rigoletto,” “Carmen,” “Il Barbiere di Sivgilia,” and “I Puritani.” He has also performed numerous Zarzuelas and musicals, including “Sweeney Todd,” and also dictates masterclasses at Universities and Academies.

The concert will take place on July 7, 2018.
