FEDORA Announces Opera Nominees for 2018 Awards

The non-profit organization FEDORA has announced the nominees for its prizes in 2018.

The aim of the organization is to support ballet and opera projects, which are able to obtain funding using the platform, which is supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe funding programme.

The nominees will run a crowdfunding campaign on the platform and the winners will be awarded in a ceremony on June 7, 2018, in Munich.

The nominees in the opera section include “Seven Stones,” “Les Bienveillantes,” “The True Story of King Kong,” and “Tarkovsky. The 8th Film.”

“Seven Stones” is a project by the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence by composer Ondrej Adamek. “Les Bienveillantes” is from Opera Vlaanderen and composed by composer Hèctor Parra.

“King Kong” is composed by Jeffrey Ching and will be showcased at Theater Magdeburg, while “Tarkovsky” is composed by Ekke Vastrik and will be presented at the Musiktheatertage Wien.
