Elena Moşuc & Liana Aleksanyan Headline Teatro Verdi Trieste’s 2018-19 Season

The Teatro Verdi Trieste has announced its 2018-19 season.

The season opens with Bellini’s “I Puritani” starring Elena Moşuc, Antonino Siragusa, and Alexey Birkus. Fabrizio Maria Carminati conducts Emilio Sagi’s acclaimed production from the Teatro Real de Madrid.

Performance Dates: Nov. 16-24, 2018

Christopher Franklin conducts Verdi’s “Nabucco” starring Giovanni Meoni, Giuseppe Infantino, Nicola Ulivieri, and Aya Wakizono.

Performance Dates: Jan 18-26, 2019

The Odessa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet will present a production of Borodin’s “Prince Igor.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 8-16, 2019

Claudia Pavone, Francesco Castoro, and Leon Kim star in Donizetti’s beloved comedy “L’Elisir d’Amore” with Simon Krečič conducting.

Performance Dates: March 15-23, 2019

Liana Aleksanyan takes on the title role in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.” Piero Pretti sings the role of Pinkerton while Nikša Bareza conducts the new production by Alberto Triola.

Performance Dates: April 12-20, 2019

Fabrizio Maria Carminati conducts a new production of Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier” with Kristian Benedikt, Svetla Vassileva, and Devid Cecconi. Sarah Schinasi directs the new production.

Performance Dates: May 17-26, 2019

Ketevan Kemoklidze, Gaston Rivero, Ruth Iniesta, and Domenico Balzani take on Bizet’s “Carmen” to conclude the season. Oleg Caetani conducts the new production by Carlo Antonio De Lucia.

Performance Dates: June 21-29, 2019
