‘Callas in Concert’ Tour Dates Announced For US, Mexico, South America & Europe

Update: OperaWire has been informed that the San Francisco date will actually mark the first performance of the tour, though the exact time and place has yet to be defined. The article follows as originally published.

“Maria Callas” will return to the stage this fall.

Base Hologram, the company behind the technology that is bringing the famed diva “back to life,” announced on Monday that the official tour of the production would kick off this September in the U.S.

The production features a hologram of Callas in performance as if she were really there (for an in-depth feature on the process of creating the tour, click here). Those excited at reliving or seeing Callas for the “first time” will get to see her on Sept. 23, 2018, in Sacramento, California. Then the tour heads to Mexico on Sept. 28, 30 and Oct. 4-11. A tour through four South American cities closes out October before the tour returns to the U.S. for four concerts in Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

Then it heads to Puerto Rico for a lone showcase on Nov. 17, 2018, before heading to San Francisco for one more concert.

The “Callas” heads over to Europe for eight showcases across England, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands.

There will be more concerts on the way thereafter.
