Anna Netrebko will sing the title role in Cilea’s “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the 2018 Baden-Baden Festival.

The opera is slated to be performed in a production from the Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg by Isabelle Partiot-Pieri with Netrebko’s husband Yusif Eyvazov and Ekaterina Semenchuck alongside Valery Gergiev. Performances will be held in July of 2018.

Netrebko is slated to make her role debut as “Adriana Lecouvreur” in May at the Mariinsky Theater where she will also be conducted by Gergiev. The soprano has sung arias from the work over the past years and has created anticipation for her role debut. She is also slated to sing the opera at the Metropolitan Opera where she is slated to sing in a production by David McVicar.

Netrebko is expected to make her role debut as Verdi’s “Aida” this summer at the Salzburg Festival and will also maker her debut as Maddalena in Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier.” She will also sing her first “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera next season. Currently she is rehearsing a revival of Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” at the Met Opera.
