
The Atlanta Opera Releases ‘Ring Cycle’ Films on Streaming Service
By David SalazarThe Atlanta Opera Film Studio has released three new cinematic opera films adapted from the company’s acclaimed stage productions of Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle.
Produced by The Atlanta Opera’s Carl W. Knobloch Jr. General and Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun and Film Studio Director Felipe Barral, the films transform the stage productions into full-length movie experiences designed for global streaming audiences. The creative team includes Zvulun as director, Erhard Rom as scenic and projection designer, Mattie Ullrich as costume designer, Robert Wierzel as lighting designer, and Ran Arthur Braun as live action designer. The original stage productions were conducted by Arthur Fagen and Roberto Kalb.
The filmed Ring Cycle features an ensemble of leading international artists, including Greer Grimsley, Christine Goerke, Stefan Vinke, Lise Lindstrom, Alexander Kopeczi, Viktor Antipenko, Zachary Nelson, Rodell Rosel, Julius Ahn, Raymond Aceto, Gretchen Krupp, Laura Wilde, Lindsay Ammann, Richard Cox, Ronnita Miller, and Elizabeth DeShong.
The Atlanta Opera will conclude its live Ring Cycle with “Götterdämmerung,” running May 30 through June 7, 2026, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. A livestream of the production will be offered on June 2 ahead of the film’s eventual release.
