The Staatstheater Augsburg has named Ulrike Kuhrdt its new Executive Director.

Kuhrdt will take the new position on Jan. 1, 2025. The board of the Augsburg State Theater Foundation announced the news after a meeting in November.

Kuhrdt recently stepped in as acting managing director at short notice following the departure of Florian Stiehler and has proven her ability over the past few months. Kuhrdt has been working at the Staatsteater Augsburg for six years, first as a consultant to the management and then as head of the human resources department.

In a statement, Intendant André Bücker said, “I am pleased to be able to continue working with Ulrike Kuhrdt as Managing Director in the future. She knows the special challenges that the Augsburg State Theater will face in the coming years. I am sure that with Ulrike Kuhrdt, her positive energy, and assertiveness, we will be able to set the important course.”
