The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a New Year’s concert on Jan. 4, 2026.

The concert will feature Saioa Hernández and Xabier Anduaga alongside the Orquestra del Liceu and the Orquestra del Teatro La Fenice. Riccardo Frizza conduct.

The collaboration will mark the first time the Liceu and Fenice work together, and it will also symbolize shared resilience after the fire disasters that affected them in the 1990s.

Frizza is recognized for conducting bel canto and symphonic works while Hernández is one of todays great dramatic voices who has performed at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Berliner Staatsoper, Covent Garden, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real Madrid, and the Berlin Philharmonic.

Anduaga is a young tenor who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Opéra de Paris, Opera di Roma, Staatsoper Berlin, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
