Renée Fleming To Perform for Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Live in Concert’ Series

Renée Fleming continues the Metropolitan Opera’s “Met Stars Live in Concert” series on August 1, 2020.

The event, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET, will feature the opera superstar live from the music salon of the historic Dumbarton Oaks estate in Washington, D.C.

The program, which will feature piano accompaniment by Robert Ainsley, will showcase the soprano in arias by Puccini, Massenet, Handel, and Korngold. Highlights will include “Endless pleasure, endless love” from Handel’s “Semele,” Canteloube’s “Baïlèro,” and the Marschallin’s Act one monologue from Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier.”

The concert will be available on-demand through Wednesday, August 12.

Fleming’s performance will be followed in this series by concerts featuring Roberto Alagna and Aleksandra Kurzak, Lise Davidsen, and Joyce DiDonato among many others. Alagna and Kurzak will be live from Èze, France on August 16, while Davidsen will appear from Oslo on August 29. Meanwhile, DiDonato will appear from Barcelona, Spain on Sept. 12.
