‘Ópera Queer’ Returns to Teatro Picadero this December

By David Salazar

“Ópera Queer” will return to the Teatro Picadero in Buenos Aires on Dec. 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

In this showcase, a duo featuring La Ferni and Luchi de Gyldenfeldt perform alongside pianist Jazmín Tiscornia. The performance spotlights Luchi as she tries to narrate the story of an opera, only to be constantly interrupted by her sister La Ferni and her insistence on “opera being boring.” The ensuing showcase sees the two mix classics with more popular pieces in a unique mix.

The program previously sold out the Teatro Picadero back in August. The duo also put on the program at the Teatro Metro in La Plata.

The performance includes costumes and props by Vedette, makeup and hair styling by Deb Torquato, and lighting design by Flor Ayos.

Ópera Queer was founded in 2016 and has performed throughout Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Jujuy, among other regions.
