Northern Ireland Opera Announces Cast & Creatives for ‘La Traviata’

Northern Ireland Opera has announced a trio of top female cast and creatives in the critically-acclaimed national opera company’s new adaptation of Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata” directed by Artistic Director Cameron Menzies,
opening at Belfast’s Grand Opera House this September.

The first cast will be headed by soprano star Siobhan Stagg who will debut in the leading role as courtesan Violetta Valéry. Isabel Baquero, renowned choreographer for both stage and screen, joins the creative team alongside conductor Rebecca Lang,

Further cast and creative announcements will follow shortly.

Lang returns to the company after her huge success with “La Bohème” while Stagg is well known for her work at the Berlin State Opera, Royal Opera House, and the Bayerische Staatsoper. Baquero is a renowned choreographer who has worked at the Royal Opera House and the Scottish Opera, among others.

Performances of “La Traviata” will be held from Sept. 10 to 17, 2022.
